A used Ditting KFA 1403 coffee grinder I purchased that has a stuck grind adjuster
for the Coffee Wholesalers.com coffee shop.

This thing has a 3 phase 2.7 horse power motor with an 8 hour duty rating and grinds
6 pounds of coffee per minute.  That comes out to 2880 pounds a day !
I don't think I will need that much ground coffee.

It has a pretty small hopper "2.5 pounds" for how fast it grinds coffee.
Definitely will need to fab a new larger hopper.

Hmmm... what's in here ? looks well used.

This Ditting model has Stainless Steel front and back panels .

Lay back and relax, this wont hurt...

Someone has been here before.

Crispy.

A pretty unique design, the casting that holds the burr set functions as the motor end plate
and the inner hub holds the motor armature with a spring clip using the weight of the armature
to lower the bottom burr as the adjuster is turned out toward the coarse setting.

Grinds outlet in the main housing.

Top and bottom burrs.

Five and a half inch diameter grinding burrs. I think these will be a few bucks to replace.

Grinds adjuster knob looks to be very well used.

The teeth on the adjuster and the handle are used to set the zero point for the smallest grind size.

Adjuster pin that raises and lowers the bottom grinding burr.

Lower burr cooling fins inside the main grinder head housing.

The main housing is made of cast iron,
the pieces that the grinding burrs mount on are made from aluminum.

The outer ring in this picture is the inner adjusting mechanism for the lower burr,
and is very stuck in the main housing.

The inner piece that holds the bearing is stuck in the outer casting.

The two pieces after considerable effort to separate them.

The tapered hole in the inner hub is the adjusting mechanism that is used to raise and lower the lower burr,
the top burr is fixed in the housing.

Cleaned up and ready to put back together.

I used food grade silicon grease between the two pieces and in the bearing.

Re-assembled and ready to use.
